The UK and Australia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding linking the UK AI Security Institute and the Australian AI Safety Institute to jointly track frontier AI risks. The institutes will share intelligence on AI capabilities, including cyber-attack and defensive uses, collaborate on evaluation best practice, and enable staff exchanges. The agreement, signed by ministers in Canberra, follows new UK research showing advanced AI systems are rapidly improving their ability to carry out complex cyber-attacks.
