Ex-A&O and Freshfields lawyers back AI-native European firms with flat-fee models

Former Allen & Overy senior partner Wim Dejonghe and ex-Freshfields lawyer Rémy Bonnaffé have joined Falcon, a Ghent-based AI-native law firm that has raised €1.5 million in pre-seed funding. Falcon targets startups and SMEs with flat monthly fees instead of hourly billing, using an in-house platform that handles commercial contracts via Teams and Slack before a qualified lawyer signs off. Separately, ex-Freshfields partner Jelle Drok and associate Arvid van Oorschot launched Driven Lawyers in September, focused on commercial disputes, IP, and contract and liability work for international corporates in the Netherlands.
