President Marcos Jr unveils Philippine AI Program Framework for future-proofing economy

According to a statement from the Presidential Office, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has launched the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Project Accelerating Governance and Adaptive Pedagogy through Artificial Intelligence (AGAP.AI). The national framework focuses on building robust infrastructure, including high-performance computing systems and upskilling workers and educators. As Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this year, Philippines is also building a harmonized and human-centered AI ecosystem across Southeast Asia, focusing on five vital sectors: finance, agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, and education.
