The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) released a statement confirming that it has temporarily suspended access to X’s Grok AI application in order to “protect women, children, and the entire community from the risk of fake pornographic content generated using AI technology”. The government views the practice of non-consensual sexual deepfakes as a serious violation of human rights, dignity, and the security of citizens in the digital space. The Komdigi has also asked X to immediately provide clarification regarding the negative impacts of using Grok.
