Indonesian Religion Minister warns of unguided dehumanisation risks of AI

It is reported that Indonesian Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar has expressed concerns over the potential dehumanization risks posed by unguided AI development. Minister Nasaruddin emphasised that the Ministry of Religion plays a role in providing moral guidance in the development of technology, and that the development of AI needs to be accompanied by spiritual guidance. The Ministry of Religion is following up on the Istiqlal Declaration as part of an effort to provide ethical guidance for technological development.
