South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed seven memorandums of understanding to expand cooperation in strategic sectors (including AI, aerospace and nuclear energy) during a summit between President Lee Jae Myung and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Notably, South Korea has agreed to work with the UAE on the US-backed Stargate project to build a massive new AI data campus in the UAE. Earlier in October 2025, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix in October signed initial agreements to supply memory chips for OpenAI’s Stargate data centers.
