It is reported that, at the launch of the Empowering Indonesia Report 2025 in Jakarta, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria urged AI developers and platform managers to integrate privacy, security, and ethics from the outset, advocating for a “trust by design” approach. Minister Patria highlighted the necessity of adhering to global standards, such as ISO/IEC 42001:2023, to build transparent and secure AI systems. Additionally, Minister Patria noted that the Indonesian government is preparing two presidential regulations—the National Roadmap for AI Development and AI Ethics—to establish a clear regulatory framework for ethical and sovereign AI governance in response to the rapid adoption of AI technology.
