It is reported that Somalia and Saudi Arabia have agreed to collaborate on regulating AI and space technology. The agreement was signed in Riyadh by Mustafa Yasin Sheikh, Director General of Somalia’s National Communications Authority, and Haitham Al-Ohaly, Governor of Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission, during the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-25). This partnership aims to build regulatory cooperation, share expertise, and create frameworks to guide responsible growth in AI and space technology, while also exploring opportunities in infrastructure sharing and broader digital cooperation.
