Microsoft launches Copilot for Legal with legal drafting, review and research functions

Microsoft launched Copilot for Legal with more than 20 legal skills across Word and Cowork. The tools can draft documents, review agreements against playbooks, apply proposed revisions as tracked changes, extract contractual obligations and deadlines, compare agreements, conduct legal research, and build case chronologies. Legal plugins began rolling out on October 15 to customers with Microsoft 365 Copilot commercial licenses.
