ABA Journal reported that the 5th Circuit is weighing whether a Mississippi DEI-law challenge should be reassigned after a district judge issued an error-filled ruling. The judge previously said a law clerk used Perplexity to synthesize docket information, and the problematic order was later withdrawn and corrected. At argument, a 5th Circuit judge reportedly questioned why an erroneous citation still appeared afterward.
