US Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has written a letter asking US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to explain how he will ensure the Department of Defense’s (DOD) AI contracting processes will protect government data, save taxpayer funds, and promote competition. The letter emphasizes the importance of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) procurement decisions in fostering competition and preventing market consolidation, which can lead to higher prices and reduced innovation.
