It is reported that the UK’s Technology Ministry is beginning to hire a team that will prepare for AI regulation. While there is still no draft legislation nor a timeline for it, the job description sheds light on how the government might interact with regulators on AI and states that the team could itself become a “shadow regulator”. This is the strongest indication in some time that dedicated AI regulation could be on its way.
