UK data watchdog shares its own AI use policy to help guide companies

The UK Information Commissioner’s Office has posted its own internal AI use policy in the public domain with the hope of giving companies “confidence and regulatory certainty” on AI. The internal document, originally shared with all ICO staff in August 2025, considers the risks and opportunities of using AI and provides practical guidance on issues of impact assessment, performance monitoring and transparency.
