It has been announced that as part of Stargate UAE, the UAE will provide all UAE citizens and residents with free access to ChatGPT Plus, which typically costs $20 per month. For background, Stargate UAE is a 1-gigawatt AI infrastructure cluster in Abu Dhabi, developed through a partnership between UAE’s G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, and SoftBank, designed to provide nation-scale compute capacity and accelerate AI innovation across multiple industries, with the first 200-megawatt phase expected to go live in 2026 as part of the UAE–U.S. AI Acceleration Partnership.
