At the Declaration of Digital Indonesia Direction at Sopo Del Tower in South Jakarta, Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid stated that the government is preparing two Presidential Regulations (Perpres) related to AI as a new regulatory framework in the digital sector. The two rules include the implementation of the AI Ethics framework and the AI Roadmap. According to the Minister, the government has completed 90 percent of the AI Roadmap and AI Ethics, and has been included in the President’s priority to be signed at the beginning of 2026. The party will only release a large umbrella related to this AI policy, but it will be delegated to each ministry to regulate the details.
