It is reported that the Trump administration is considering new restrictions on the Chinese AI lab DeepSeek that would limit it from buying Nvidia’s AI chips and potentially bar US consumers from accessing DeepSeek’s services. In particular, US officials of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party have initiated an investigation into Nvidia’s chip sales in Asia to determine if the company knowingly supplied DeepSeek with critical technology, potentially violating US regulations.
