South Korea plans extra budget to help AI developers, tariffs-hit industries

It is reported that, according to the Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok, South Korea’s government plans to draft a supplementary budget of about 10 trillion won (USD 6.8 billion) by next week, mainly to support national AI development programs and help industries affected by US reciprocal tariffs. Further details have yet to be revealed, but it is reported that part of this budget will be allocated towards the purchase of GPUs for use by AI developers.
