It is reported that during a public hearing at parliament, South Korea’s Science and ICT Minister Yoo Sang-im has urged parliament to swiftly pass a proposed law on the management and utilisation of data generated from government-funded research, emphasising the importance of such data to support the advance in AI. Minister Yoo emphasised the need to create an infrastructure enabling researchers to freely share and utilise data, while also establishing a legal basis and systematic management framework to protect and supplement research data.
