South Korea AI law may need revisions before implementation, research says

It is reported that the National Assembly Research Service has prepared a report which finds that South Korea’s recently enacted AI Act contains provisions that are either incomplete or vague, and may require revision before taking full effect in early 2026. Reported findings includes: (1) while the law distinguishes between AI developers and pure service providers, it does not clearly define their respective responsibilities; and (2) the need for more detailed definitions of high impact AI systems which carry significant responsibilities to prevent confusion among businesses.
