Singapore publishes report on Consensus on Global AI Safety Research Priorities

The Singapore Conference on AI 2025 has released a report titled “Singapore Consensus on Global AI Safety Research Priorities”, which sets out the substantial consensus around technical AI safety research domains, namely: (1) challenges with creating trustworthy AI systems (Development); (2) challenges with evaluating their risks (Assessment); and (3) challenges with monitoring and intervening after deployment (Control). The report incorporates perspectives from a wide range of experts from top industry labs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, GDM, xAI, Meta), academic and non-profit institutions (e.g. MIT, Stanford, Tsinghua, METR, FAR.AI), and government AI safety institutes (from the US, UK, France, Canada, China, Japan and Korea). The report aims to serve as a foundation document to facilitate global, meaningful conversations amongst AI policymakers, scientists, the broader industry and public, improve understanding of risk management, and spur international research collaboration.
