Seoul government uses AI to flag and remove sexually abusive content

It is reported that the Seoul Metropolitan Government has developed South Korea’s first AI-powered system designed to automatically monitor, detect, report, and request the removal of sexually exploitative content online within minutes, significantly reducing the time for deletion requests to just six minutes. Since 2023, the city has collaborated with the Seoul Institute to enhance monitoring of such content across social media, online communities, and the dark web, and the new system will also track content posted on foreign servers. Additionally, the city government offers a support center for digital sex crime victims, providing comprehensive assistance that includes content removal, investigative and legal support, psychological therapy, and medical aid.
