Privacy Protection Authority releases guidance on AI and privacy

Israel’s Privacy Protection Authority has published a comprehensive guidance document that deals with all aspects of privacy in the use of AI systems, and the application of the provisions of the Privacy Protection Law to these systems. The guidance deals with topics relating to: (1) processing personal information – only on a lawful basis; (2) informed consent and user notification; (3) mining information from the internet – only with informed consent; (4) social platforms and networks; (5) the right to correct personal information; and (6) responsibility. The guidance is open to public feedback until 5 June 2025.
