It is reported that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has directed government agencies to organize an international summit on AI in Japan at the earliest opportunity, aiming to convene global officials and researchers to address AI-related risks. Emphasizing AI’s critical role in national strength, Prime Minister Takaichi called for a collaborative effort between the government and private sector to advance in the AI domain. Additionally, the government plans to invest over 1 trillion yen in AI initiatives and will deploy Gennai, a generative AI tool developed by Japan’s Digital Agency, to more than 100,000 government officials starting in May next year.
