Poland urges EU to probe TikTok over AI-generated content suspected to come from Russia

It is reported that Poland Deputy Digitalisation Minister Dariusz has requested the European Commission to investigate TikTok for hosting AI-generated content, including videos urging Poland to withdraw from the EU, which officials believe is likely Russian disinformation. A TikTok profile featuring young women in Polish national colors promoting EU withdrawal gained popularity but has since been removed. The Deputy Digitalisation Minister emphasized that such content threatens public order and democratic processes, suggesting TikTok may be failing to meet its obligations as a Very Large Online Platform. A government spokesperson noted that the recordings contained Russian syntax, indicating their origin. TikTok stated it has been in contact with Polish authorities and has removed content violating its rules.
