Emphasizing the importance of an open, inclusive, and rules-based international order, President Marcos Jr said this initiative aims to build a future-ready, competitive, people-centered, and sustainable ASEAN amid challenges such as regional tensions, maritime security, climate change, economic instability, and digital disruption. President Marcos Jr also reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to deepening regional cooperation, supporting ASEAN centrality, and enhancing the well-being of both Filipinos and the broader Southeast Asian community.
