A new LexisNexis survey of 543 legal professionals shows 81% of lawyers feel more comfortable using AI when it is grounded in trusted legal sources, up from 70% a year ago and 72% in January. Hallucinations remain the top concern, with 83% worried about lawyers relying on inaccurate or fabricated information, and 77% believing AI is causing clients or the public to misinterpret the law. AI use is now mainstream: 94% of lawyers use AI for legal work, 74% weekly and 34% daily. Legal research leads use cases (69%), followed by document summarisation (62%). 46% of lawyers say their career would suffer if their organisation failed to embrace AI, up from 28% last year, and 55% expect AI to change how firms bill.
