It is reported that US Representatives Darin LaHood and Josh Gottheimer are set to introduce the “No DeepSeek on Government Devices Act” aiming to prohibit the use of DeepSeek’s chatbot application on federal devices. The bill will mandate that the Office of Management and Budget establish guidelines within 60 days for the removal of DeepSeek from federal technologies, with exceptions for law enforcement and national security-related activities. This comes after the US House of Representatives chief administrative officer issued a memo urging staffers against using DeepSeek last week.
