Kazakhstan, Singapore discuss cooperation in digitalization and AI

Kazakh Ambassador to Singapore, Askar Kuttykadam, met with Choy Yong Cong, Director of the International Affairs Division of Singapore’s Ministry of Digital Development and Information, to discuss bilateral cooperation in digitalization, AI, cybersecurity, and GovTech. Kuttykadam highlighted Kazakhstan’s commitment to digitalization and AI, declaring 2026 as the Year of Digitalization and AI, and noted the establishment of a legal framework for AI implementation, including the Law on the Development of Artificial Intelligence. He emphasized the new Constitution’s recognition of digital rights and Kazakhstan’s ranking of 24th in the UN E-Government Development Index. The meeting also covered advancements in digital infrastructure, such as the launch of supercomputing clusters and the establishment of an AI University by 2026. Choy Yong Cong acknowledged Kazakhstan’s progress and shared insights from Singapore’s AI initiatives. Both parties recognized strong prospects for collaboration, including participation in upcoming international forums and the establishment of the Kazakhstan-Singapore Center for Quantum Technologies. Kuttykadam invited Singaporean partners to contribute to the regional digital ecosystem.
