In its FY26 overview, Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission has revealed that it plans to conduct surveys on trends in AI, other emerging technologies, and the protection of personal information. The Commission is also preparing to study privacy-enhancing technologies to help the private sector adopt proactive data-protection measures.
