It is reported that the International Network of AI Safety Institutes, comprising countries such as Australia, Canada, the EU, France, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Singapore, the UK, and the US, is rebranding to the International Network for Advanced AI Measurement Evaluation and Science to emphasize its commitment to the scientific measurement and evaluation of AI models (following UK-led calls to move away from the ‘safety’ label). The UK will assume the role of network coordinator, aiming to lead efforts in developing rigorous methods for testing advanced AI systems.
