It is reported that Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, has urged her ministry to promptly implement a national AI framework, following President Prabowo Subianto’s call for expedited action across government agencies. During a leadership meeting, Hafid highlighted the government’s efforts to finalise an AI roadmap that will guide the development of an inclusive and responsible AI ecosystem, with collaboration from 39 ministries and agencies. Five priority sectors for AI development have been identified: healthcare, digital talent education, bureaucratic reform, smart city development, and food security, aimed at ensuring equitable digital transformation. Additionally, Hafid emphasized the need for improved coordination and systematic reporting within the ministry to foster a more efficient and future-ready government.
