Indian Parliamentary panel suggests an AI-powered system to monitor and regulate airfare trends

It is reported that India’s Department-Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture has released a report titled “Demands for Grants (2025-26) Of Ministry of Civil Aviation” which recommends, among other items, the establishment of a new AI-driven airfare pricing regulation mechanism, tentatively named “AirPrice Guardian,” to enhance the monitoring of airfares in India, noting that the current regulatory framework under the Directorate General of Civil Aviation is inadequate for proactive regulation regarding unpredictable and high airfare surges, especially during peak travel times.
