It is reported that at the DNPA Conclave 2025 event, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Secretary Sanjay Jaju and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Secretary Ashwini Vaishnaw have made separate statements to the effect of advocating for quality and fair compensation for media houses whose content is used by AI companies for training. MeitY Additional Secretary Abhishek Singh also reportedly revealed that the Ministry is working with various government departments, including Prasar Bharati (public service broadcaster), to share datasets to build its own large language models under India AI mission and that public, restricted and private data sets will be available under India AI datasets platform (version of which will be launched in the coming 10 days).
