House of Lords approves new amendment to Data (Use and Access) Bill, reintroducing transparency requirements

The UK House of Lords has approved a new amendment to the Data (Use and Access) Bill that reintroduces transparency requirements to ensure AI developers provide information to copyright holders so they could identify if their material had been used for AI. The amendment, which was introduced by Baroness Beeban Kidron, was approved by the House of Lords in a 287 to 118 vote. The bill now returns to the House of Commons.
