Garante blocks DeepSeek

Italy’s data protection regulator (Garante) has urgently ordered and with immediate effect a block on the processing of data of Italian users with respect to Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence and Beijing DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence, the Chinese companies that provide the DeepSeek chatbot service. This block follows the communication from the companies received today, the content of which the Garante deemed was “completely insufficient”.
