G7 release joint statement to increase use of AI in public sector

As a result of the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada, G7 leaders have released a joint statement titled “G7 Leaders’ Statement on AI for Prosperity” which states that G7 countries will work together to expand the use of AI in the public sector in order to improve the quality of government services and increase government efficiency. G7 countries also agree to (1) deliver an AI Adoption Blueprint that equips governments and businesses with practical tools, evidence-based policy options, and real-world examples to accelerate SME AI integration; and (2) work to address AI’s heavy energy consumption and increase access to AI in developing countries.
