FTC issues final order against IntelliVision

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued a final order in relation to an investigation into IntelliVision Technologies Corporation for alleged misrepresentations around the accuracy and bias of its AI-powered facial recognition software. Under this order, IntelliVision is prohibited from misrepresenting the accuracy and efficacy of its facial recognition software, including its comparative performance in relation to different genders, ethnicities, and skin tones. The order also prohibits Intellivision from making representations about the effectiveness, accuracy, or lack of bias of its technology to detect spoofing. This order follows a previously proposed consent order issued in December 2024.
