European Commission has launched targeted stakeholder consultation on implementation of AI Act’s rules for high risk systems

The European Commission has launched a targeted stakeholder consultation to collect input from stakeholders on practical examples of AI systems and issues to be clarified in the Commission’s guidelines on the classification of high-risk AI systems and future guidelines on high-risk requirements and obligations, as well as responsibilities along the AI value chain. For context, pursuant to Article 6(5) AI Act, the Commission is required to provide guidelines specifying the practical implementation of Article 6, which sets out the rules for high-risk classification, by 2 February 2026. The consultation closes on 18 July 2025.
