DPIIT forms committee to examine AI’s impact on copyright law

It is reported that the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has established a multi-stakeholder committee to explore the relationship between AI and copyright law in India, focusing on (1) identifying legal and policy issues arising from AI’s use in copyright; (2) examining whether the Copyright Act, 1957, is sufficient to deal with them; (3) recommending changes if needed; and (4) publishing a working paper summarising its findings.
