It is reported that Cyprus has criminalized the creation, possession, and distribution of AI-generated child pornography, making it the first EU member to legally regulate AI-generated child sexual abuse content. The new law, which passed unanimously, amends the definition of child pornography in Cyprus’ existing law “The Prevention and Combating of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Child Pornography Law, 2014” to include AI-created content and AI paedophile manuals, with penalties of up to 15 years in jail.
