The Government of Canada has hosted its first-ever National Summit on Artificial Intelligence and Culture, in partnership with the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. The summit convened approximately 300 participants from academia, industry, civil society, and government to explore AI’s impact on cultural production and distribution. Following the event, the government announced the establishment of an AI and Culture Advisory Council, co-led by Culture Minister Marc Miller and Minister of Artificial Intelligence Evan Solomon, to guide policy development in this rapidly evolving area.
