Cambodia embraces industrial AI innovation

At the Tengchong Scientists Forum in Yunnan, China, Cambodian Undersecretary of State Hul Seingheng declared Cambodia’s commitment to industrial-based innovation founded on inclusive AI cooperation and the responsible use of emerging technologies, aiming to accelerate collaborative research and development (R&D) to bridge the digital divide. Undersecretary Seingheng emphasized that Cambodia is integrating AI into its industrial modernization, aligning with the Science, Technology, and Innovation Roadmap 2030, and urged the global scientific community to prioritize human-centric governance guided by principles of fairness and transparency. Undersecretary Seingheng identified the skills gap as the most significant barrier for developing nations, stressing the vital need for intensified STEM education and AI literacy to ensure equitable benefits from AI, and outlined three key international priorities: advancing joint applied AI R&D, enhancing technology transfer for capacity-building, and establishing inclusive ethical governance.
