California mandates disclosures for advertisements using AI-generated performers

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 1050 on September 16. The law requires explicit disclosure on video or audio advertisements that use AI-generated performers to sell products or services. It also prohibits the continued use of advertisements found to violate the law.
