At the conclusion of the 2025 APEC Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, the APEC Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative (2026-2030) was adopted to leverage AI’s potential for resilient economic growth, enhanced productivity, and technological advancement across member economies. The initiative outlines three core strategic objectives: to foster resilient economic growth by advancing AI innovation and promoting secure, accessible, and reliable AI ecosystems for all; to increase member economies’ meaningful participation in the AI transformation through cooperation and capacity-building initiatives; and to encourage AI development and adoption by fostering resilient infrastructure investment and leveraging energy-efficient technologies.
