ANPD, MPF and Senacon conclude that measures reported by X on Grok AI were insufficient

The National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF), and the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) have concluded that the corrective measures implemented by X regarding its Grok AI tool are insufficient to address significant safety flaws. Following a joint investigation, these authorities determined that the company failed to provide technical documentation or monitoring evidence to support its claims of improvement, while preliminary tests confirmed the ongoing generation of non-consensual sexualized content involving both minors and adults. Consequently, ANPD and Senacon have issued an immediate order for X to deploy technical and organizational safeguards to block the creation of such content across all system modalities, mandating the submission of efficacy documentation within five business days. The MPF has demanded monthly transparency reports detailing deepfake prevention efforts, content removals, and account suspensions, noting a distinct lack of clarity in the company’s previous disclosures. As investigations remain active, the authorities warned that non-compliance with these directives could trigger substantial fines, administrative sanctions, and further judicial actions to ensure consumer and data protection.
