AI for Main Street Act introduced

US House of Representative member Mark Alford (R-Mo) and Hillary Scholten (MI-03) have introduced a bipartisan bill titled “AI for Mainstreet Act”, which aims to assist small US businesses in adopting AI technologies by directing the Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide information, guidance, and training through its Small Business Development Centers. The legislation highlights AI applications such as planning for unexpected events, protecting data and intellectual property, and enhancing cybersecurity and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the SBA is tasked with conducting outreach to understand small businesses’ concerns regarding AI adoption.
