Microsoft seeks legal engineer to build AI tools for in-house lawyers

Microsoft has posted a role for a principal legal engineer, offering base pay of $147,000 to $278,900, to help shape how its lawyers use AI. The hire will build agents, sharpen prompts, and train attorneys in Microsoft’s Customer & Partner Solutions group. The job requires a law degree and at least seven years of practice, with hands-on experience of AI legal tools such as Harvey or Copilot preferred. Microsoft has already rolled out Harvey across its broader Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs organisation. Palantir posted a similar embedded legal engineer role last month.
