Garfield AI, the UK’s first SRA-authorised AI law firm, has helped freelance HR consultant Tamires Camal Taquidir recover £7,000 in unpaid fees after a contested three-hour trial at Wandsworth County Court. Co-founder Philip Young, a former founding partner at Cooke, Young & Keidan, described it as the first trial victory by a regulated AI lawyer against human opposition. The platform assisted with pre-action correspondence, disclosure, witness statements, and trial preparation before a One Essex Court barrister was instructed. The court awarded £7,000 and dismissed the defendant’s counterclaim. Garfield focuses on small debt claims and is positioned as an access-to-justice tool for individuals and small businesses.
