It is reported that at a legal conference, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo expressed concerns about granting AI systems legal personality, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining human accountability in AI-related decisions. This stance aligns with Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to develop a risk-based AI law that imposes stricter oversight on high-risk technologies, as well as the establishment of a Digital Asset and Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council to position the country at the forefront of the global digital economy.
