The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) has stated that the first phase of US semiconductor tariffs, imposing a 25% duty on specific advanced AI chips like Nvidia’s H200 and AMD’s MI325X, will have “minimal impact” on Singapore. The MTI explained these tariffs target a narrow category of semiconductors not currently manufactured in Singapore.
